A Type F (Raised Face) gasket used in a flange insulation kit is specifically designed to fit within the raised face (RF) portion of a flange, providing a secure seal while maintaining effective electrical isolation between connected piping systems.

Unlike full-face gaskets, the Type F design sits only on the raised face area and does not include bolt holes, making it ideal for higher-pressure applications where controlled sealing stress is required. As part of a complete flange insulation kit, the Type F gasket works in combination with insulating sleeves, washers, and metal backing washers to prevent galvanic corrosion and block stray electrical currents.
